The results of ClimEmpower’s first year of operation were presented in poster form at the 5th SCIENTIFIC-EXPERT CONFERENCE Adaptations to climate change and preservation of marine ecosystems of the Adriatic Sea, held in Zadar, Croatia, held from September 26th to 29th, 2024.
The main topic in 2024 was “Interdisciplinary approach to considering adaptations, measures, and good practices in resolving issues caused by climate change”. Works were presented in both English and Croatian to an international audience of over 80 experts in the fields of climatology, biology, oceanology, ecology, and more.
The conference concluded that the time to act on climate change mitigation and adaptation is right now. Various regions and actors need to be empowered to start acting more sustainably and to prepare for the coming weather extremes caused by climate change.
