The Andalusia case study for CLIMEMPOWER will be made up by the sub-region called “Western Costa Del Sol (WCDS)”. The study area comprises 11 municipalities (Estepona, Marbella, Mijas, Fuengirola, Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Manilva, Casares, Benahavis, Istan and Ojen) on the Spanish Mediterranean coast in Malaga Province.

Additionally, several pre-defined proposed solutions were presented, addressing most of these hazards, including pluvial flooding and sea level rise, forest fires, heatwaves, and drought. These solutions were further defined and discussed in detail to assess their usefulness.
